Hi Is there any particular reason why PersistentDuration uses VARCHAR as the underlying column type? It means that values are not reliably sortable in SQL queries as Duration's toString value will not alphasort. I can understand that trying to sort on a Period would be undesirable (e.g. 30 days and 12 hours is sometimes > 1 month and sometimes < 1 month) but Duration is simply a millisecond value under the hood and that would seem to me the best way to store it.
