Hello Friends,

For our setup joda-time runs in a webapp, on top of Tomcat6. The webapp
talks to an Oracle database which will have it's NLS setting put into place
correctly.

How would you recommend setting joda-time (Does this means JVM / Tomcat
installation configurations?) so that this will be in sync with the oracle
installation?

How does this affects joda-time? I'm currently using this wonderful library
to calculate week of year settings. Obviously this is timezone /
geographical dependent setting because I might be following the ISO standard
for week calculation (Quick explanation [1]) or I might be following some
different algorithm for week [2].

Pointers, references and generally help on this issue is appreciated.

Thank you,
Maxim

// This might seem a little newbie question, which it is.
// I think the whole concept of timezones is a complex enough issue to be
very very careful with before claiming you "know your stuff".
