Hello,

K-19 is an independantly financed film that failed to make a profit from the
box office. Starring Harrison Ford and Liam Neeson, the film highlights the
illfated maiden voyage and how a nuclear disaster was averted by crew at high
cost. Due to the Soviet mindset, the submarine was actually a floating wreck
and unsuited to the tasks. Later, same mindset, almost sentenced the captain to
the gulag, fortunely the truth prevailed and he was acquited.
Rating, the film is tense and rather well produced it receives a 8 of 10.

Pearl Harbour too is an excellent film combining two of the early world war 2
events-Pearl Harbour's bombing and Doolittle's raid on Tokyo. The overly long
film has much to do with romance and less to with actual events of the day.
Tora, Tora, Tora, was more in line with how this film ought to have been made.
Neverless, the cgi and story is well told and I feel that a rating of 7 of 10
suffices.

Das Boot will be forthcoming.

A friend first showed it to me in the '70s whilst in the right frame
of mind (IYCMD), so I didn't recall a *whole* lot - just enough, I
spoze.

I caught it again more recently on FMC.
I can see why you'd say that (ROTFLMAO) now.
Sean Connery would probably agree.

PEARL is the only movie on that list I've yet to see. I 'spect my
impressions will be similar to Bone's. Same for ther rest of the
list.
