Hello Goolam.

Gary suggested you to me, that you might be able to assist with
regards to various questions I have. Currently busy with the service
and maintenance of my Computer, following is duly noticed and I ask
for your insight thereof.
The installation is accessible at the address of Gary, if visitation
is necessary. My resources are limited and I am unable to deal
effectively with the matters. They are:

- start up, there is a mechanical noise that is clearly heard until it
disappears after several minutes. Told it might be cooling fan. No
effect on computer.
-The system needs to be switched off at power point, screen/monitor
light(power) rapidly flickers and through switching on and off, the
monitor stabilizers and can be viewed. This prevents system rollback,
restart cannot be effected as monitor does not relight. Whilst on,
works within parameters.
- The External Hard-drive(Seagate)x1 Terabyte, currently storing
data(various), has free space of 190 gigabytes. The operating system
is Windows Xp service pack 3. The current issues are, periodic
dropping of drive mapping, icon and drive disappears from the screen
and the warnings sign of data loss, E-Drive. I remedy through removal
of us cable and insertion again. Drive is detected and operates again.
I have noticed when writing to E-Drive, that it results in the above.
Removal of data from E-Drive to C-Drive is stable, though occasional
failures occurrence.

I have scanned both C&E drives, defragmentation of C done, virus
scanned and 5 removed. It is noticed too that periodically, the
configurations are altered and such as variance in time for burn, cd
24 or dvd x4 speed and mp3 ripping too noticed from 9 max, used to be
20x. There are days that E-Drive is stable and other times, failures.
Data on drive not corruption.

I have presented as best a description as possible and ask for your
insight. I am negotiating with Gary to appropriate suitable funding,
February- March for service. What do you think?
