Vacancy at UN Coordination Center, Yogyakarta Position: Web & Database Assistant Office: UN Coordination Centre, Yogyakarta, Indonesia Reporting to: Information Management Officer Duration: Three months
Responsibilities: - Support process of design, construction and maintenance of the UN Earthquake Response Website in Indonesia, in consultation with the UNCT Web Manager in Jakarta and OCHA staff in Yogyakarta. - Update content of the website, enhance visibility, make user friendly layout and re-organize contents - Support content management of the website - Manage links and cross promotions with other sites, ensuring that links are current (both to related UN sites, and to external sites, where requested) - Maintain UN OCHA 3w (?who, what & why?) application & report bugs - Assist with development of various web-based tools (web based databases, online surveys etc) - Maintain existing Shelter cluster databases - Assist in the design and development of new databases - Other duties as requested by the Information Management Officer Qualifications and Experience - Bachelor?s Degree in Computer Science or a related field. - Minimum 3 years web & database development experience - Advanced proficiency with HTML, including style sheets, templates, complex tables, frames and image maps. - Must possess working knowledge of basic composition, page layout, art and office/web software packages such as Dreamweaver, Adobe PageMaker, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat (or Free/Open Source Software equivalents) . - Experience in programming in ASP, PHP and the willingness to learn new development environments. - Experience with Apache web servers, MySQL, SQL Server, and MS Access databases. - Good command of written and spoken English, and ability to communicate with users. - Good communication and interpersonal skills and experience in working effectively in a multicultural environment. - A team-player and self-starter, able to work with minimum supervision, with sound judgment.
