Hey Luggers! This is interesting!
It's an MP3 player. It's an FM radio. It's video and photo display device. It's an e-book reader. It's a sound recorder. It's a Linux-based personal computer ready for web, email and office usage. Yes, it's Wizpy, the Swiss Army Knife of handheld gadgets announced by Japan's Turbolinux this week. [image: wizpy linux media player] Sporting a 256,000-colour OLED screen, the Wizpy looks like any of of number of would-be iPod killers, and all the media playback features - MP3, Ogg, AAC, DivX and JPEG formats supported - are all present and correct. There's a radio on board too and a text viewer. But here's the real kicker: It's also designed as a Linux-boot disk. All you have to do is plug it in to a USB port, reboot the computer *(making sure it's configured to boot from the external source)* and voila! You have a fully functional Linux box. A re-worked version of Linux acts as the primary operating system, allowing for browser, email, and office applications. Of course, there'll probably be a host of games for it too. But perhaps the most unique aspect of the Wizpy is its PC abilities. I this feature would help hackers, ALIAS star Jenifer Garner and a lot of repair work *(especially spyware removal)*!
