I suggest you try yumex, its a GUI tool for Yum and it handles such issues, I had the same problem with yuck (I mean yum), but after I used Yumex the problem disappeared (seems that Yumex handles that kind of problems internally).
Anyways, you won't lose anything, try it and update us.
