did you check the glxinfo output? if it says "direct rendering = no" this means the software driver is being used instead. please post the output of the above commands: glxinfo | grep direct glxinfo | grep OpenGL
I'm sure you already know, but to get hardware accelerated graphics on NVIDIA cards, you have to use the proprietary driver from nvidia kmod_nvidia. check your distribution's documentation on how to correctly install it. --- On Sun, 11/16/08, dircdirect damage <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > From: dircdirect damage <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Subject: [JoLUG-General] VGA card problem > To: "Jolug" <[email protected]> > Date: Sunday, November 16, 2008, 8:41 AM > hi jolug i hop that you all ok > i have aproblem with vga card > Motherboard: > CPU Type Intel Celeron D 347, 3066 MHz (23 x 133) > Motherboard Name Unknown > Motherboard Chipset Unknown > System Memory 896 MB > BIOS Type AMI (10/23/07) > Communication Port Communications Port (COM1) > Communication Port Printer Port (LPT1) > > Display: > Video Adapter NVIDIA GeForce 7050 / NVIDIA nForce 610i > (512 MB) > Monitor Plug and Play Monitor [NoDB] (1801128213) > > Multimedia: > Audio Adapter IDT Audio1 > > [ NVIDIA GeForce 7050 / NVIDIA nForce 610i ] > > Video Adapter Properties: > Device Description NVIDIA GeForce 7050 / NVIDIA nForce > 610i > Adapter String GeForce 7050 / NVIDIA nForce 610i > BIOS String Version 5.73.32.07.00 > Chip Type GeForce 7050 / NVIDIA nForce 610i > DAC Type Integrated RAMDAC > Installed Drivers nv4_disp (6.14.11.6375 - nVIDIA > ForceWare > 63.75) > Memory Size 512 MB > > Video Adapter Manufacturer: > Company Name NVIDIA Corporation > Product Information > http://www.nvidia.com/page/products.html > Driver Download > http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp > Driver Update http://driveragent.com?ref=59 > > > GPU > > -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- > > > [ nVIDIA SLI ] > > nVIDIA SLI: > SLI Status Not Supported > > > Monitor > > -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- > > > [ Plug and Play Monitor [NoDB] ] > > Monitor Properties: > Monitor Name Plug and Play Monitor [NoDB] > Monitor ID GSM4448 > Manufacture Date Week 1 / 2008 > Serial Number 1801128213 > Max.
