seemingly the HFS+ is being supported in linux and can be mounted as simple as # mount -t hfsplus <div> <destination> but for read only if journaling is turned on, otherwise, you need to disable it from within a mac system, i've seen many people complaining about the very same issue out there on the web.
however, you may try the following: reconfigure the kernel to support the HFS+, you kernel is supposed to be 2.4 or above, otherwise, download this patch<http://sourceforge.net/project/downloading.php?group_id=20251&use_mirror=garr&filename=hfsplus-patch-20020606&a=50071485>from sourceforge. you know what to do afterwards: recompile and install the new kernel. this link <http://www.ardistech.com/hfsplus/hfsplus-20040216.tar.gz>claims to offer a HFS+ support in linux, not guaranteed, as a matter of fact i doubt it, but there is no harm in trying and sharing your experience with us :) best of luck mkrahmeh On Tue, Apr 7, 2009 at 10:04 PM, Jad madi <[email protected]> wrote: > > Salam, > I'm in a situation where I need to mount HFS+ partition (single HD) > and rename some files but that partition journaling is on and I don't > have access to Mac machine to turn it off. > > > Ideas? chips? mansaf? please? > > > > --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ ### Jordan Linux Users Group ### http://Jolug.org/ http://groups.google.com/group/Jolug ### Ubuntu Jordan LoCo Team ### https://wiki.ubuntu.com/JordanTeam http://lists.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-jo ### Ojuba Linux ### http://ojuba.org/ ### Jordan PHP ### http://groups.google.com/group/JoPHP -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
