seemingly the HFS+ is being supported in linux and can be mounted as simple
as
# mount -t hfsplus <div> <destination>
but for read only if journaling is turned on, otherwise, you need to disable
it from within a mac system, i've seen many people complaining about the
very same issue out there on the web.

however, you may try the following:

reconfigure the kernel to support the HFS+, you kernel is supposed to be 2.4
or above, otherwise, download this
patch<http://sourceforge.net/project/downloading.php?group_id=20251&use_mirror=garr&filename=hfsplus-patch-20020606&a=50071485>from
sourceforge. you know what to do afterwards: recompile and install the
new kernel.

this link <http://www.ardistech.com/hfsplus/hfsplus-20040216.tar.gz>claims
to offer a HFS+ support in linux, not guaranteed, as a matter of fact i
doubt it, but there is no harm in trying and sharing your experience with us
:)

best of luck
