Well, the mailing list's main task is communicating the group members requests, suggestions & opinions... Unfortunately we don't have a big user base to be served here, so we don't get much "help" messages since everyone around are well versed in Linux. So without events or activities, there is nothing much to talk about.
I attended once a technical meeting here with the Tokyo LUG, and they have fixed meetings (one technical, one casual) every month. with the technical meeting usually contains 1 or more main topics about technology, programming, etc... and several other short (2~5) minutes "On the fly" presentations or discussions. The casual meetings are of the "come, chat & drink" types but I never attended any of them. The point is, to try and achieve a regular event so that we all keep in touch and connected. once we achieve this, more people would get involved with the LUG, and new activities would be born. So here is my suggestion. lets start regulating a meeting every month, with at least 1 main topic to talk about. We can discuss the meeting schedule/contents using the mailing list, which would allow us something to talk about regularly. Do you have any suggestions to revive the mailing list at least?
