Oooops, I'm not so sure the FAQ is accurate.
The correct names of the files should be:
jonas_jdk1.2.tar.gz = binary version 1.6.1
jonas_jdk1.1.tar.gz = old binary version 1.5 (for JDK 1.1.x only)
jonas_src.tar.gz = jonas sources (1.6.1)
Let me know if you succeed... I'll correct the FAQ!
