Dirk,

a) Are you sure that 1.5 is no longer in your classpath?

b) If you are sure, please could you provide an example of how this 
happened? I've implemented TX_REQUIRED transactional behaviour using an 
identical configuration to yours (Jonas 1.6.1, Sybase 11.9.2, jConnect 
5.2), and haven't yet had this problem.
