As far as I know,

If you bind an object using the Single Object Adapter (soa) you will be able
to bind only one object on a given host and port number.
The advantage is that a client can easily retrieve this object given this
host and port.
If you use the Multiple Object Adapter (moa) several objects can use the
same host and port number.
Generally you will only use soa to export some bootstrapping object, for
example a jeremie registry and use moa for exporting all other objects.
