this is an answer to your question and to that of Daniel about
JOnAS and CORBA.
We will work this year on JOnAS/CORBA interoperability,
and this includes several steps :
- first is RMI/IIOP support : RMI/IIOP will be implemented
by Jeremie in a near future, in the same time we will experiment
using JOnAS with Sun rmi/iiop.
- the first step should allow to have CORBA clients (e.g. the
C++ client of Daniel) to access EJBs, and also to have the
EJBs invoking some CORBA objects ...
- then we will address interoperability between services,
the first being the transactional service, i.e. it should be
possible that a transaction started in the EJB world
is propagated within the CORBA world ...
The possibility to use the different services (naming, JMS,
notification, ...) from the two worlds will be addressed
in a more long term plan.
We have no precise plan for this work, but something should
be available at the end of this year.
Best Regards,
François

--Hi,
Will Jonas support sun's RMI-IIOP implementation in the near future? I know the ejb2.0 spec requires it.
I know you guys currently support jeremie and rmi. But isn't jeremie your own implementation of RMI-IIOP?-- anthony
