Hi,
Remote deployment on the JOnAS EJB container 2.2.7 is something we
have implemented in Enhydra Enterprise.
Remote loading of classes by the registry is something that is
implemented in RMI. This make use of class anotation, URL classloader.
It requires an http server (http: protocol), an ftp server or a network
shared drive (file: protocol).
To get this working with JOnAS, we had to change the context
propagation mechanism. The RMI stub patching was not compatible
with RMI remote downloading. I have to say that looking closely
at Sun's RMI implementation was quite an experience! I don't
think JRMI supports remote jar downloading but you may want to
ask on the jonathan mailling list.
We are working closely with the JOnAS team and hope to get the
chance to have this contribution integrated shortly.
Thanks,
Christophe
