Yes it is true that is a JOnAS specific solution
but that may help those who don't need interoperability with other
EJBServer.
I think the EJB spec says nothing about the User authentication
requirements,
you can find something in the J2EE specifications.
At this time JOnAS doesn't provide the notion of application client
container
in which the authentication process must occur.
