I tried out some workarounds from a similar case that Sun told me. For all that have the same problem, here is the solution. a) If you have VM 1.3.1-b24, just limit your stack size with ulimit -s 2048 (for bash). JOnAS then works fine, even with hotspot turned on (it was a former workaround to use -classic, what has impact on performance). b) Wait for next jdk (1.3.2? 1.4.1?) to come.
