Hi everybody, I think I found the problem now by myself:
It was related with the MySQL privilege-System, because I had re-installed the mysql-Database-Tables from the original installation, but the servername of my machine has changed through the new setup, and so the new hostname was not in the list of the allowed hosts for mysql...:-( As I have switched back to Redhat 6.2 in the meantime, I now have to try again with Redhat 7.1...
