Here comes the JOnAS 2.4 version!
This version is currently available for download on the ObjectWeb (http://www.objectweb.org/jonas/jonasHomePage.htm)
and will be on the Evidian site tomorrow (http://www.evidian.com/jonas/index.htm)
The main enhancements are:
 

  • JMX  Management Facilities with a graphical tool Jadmin  for administering JOnAS servers,
  • J2EE Connector architecture support,
  • Services (JOnAS services and user services),
  • Message Selectors (for Message-driven Beans and JMS based components)  thanks to  new JORAM 2.1.1 version,
  • Entity Container improvement with Caching and Pooling,
  • Registry  may be collocated to JOnAS,
  • Enhanced Deployement Facilities
  • Performance improvement of GenIC tool (compiles all the java file at a time)
  • New version of Jonathan (3.0)
  • New example (alarm application) that mixes Servlet, JSP, EJB, user service, Security,Messaging etc...
  • New  documentation  (http://www.objectweb.org/jonas/jonasDocumentation.htm )  with a GettingStarted section
WARNING: This version does not provide the support for RMI_IIOP, the beandeployer tool is no more supported.

Closed bugs since the previous version:
 -  java.lang.Integer type's field is now supported for CMP entity on Oracle
 -  improvement on NT scripts
  - improvement of CheckEnv tool
  - fix in scripts and Makefile for Cygwin
  - log the stack and not only the error message when exception in the code of the bean
  - stopping the EJBServer without stopping the JVM
  - fix problem with timers associated to transactions
   - a message driven bean  unloaded was not re-usable
   - fix problem with null parameters in finder method
