Dear Olov,
The problem is simply due to the fact that Jonathan 2.0b3 does not
work on JDK 1.3. If you use JDK1.3, you'll need a newer version
of Jonathan, available on the Objectweb Jonathan download page
(http://www.objectweb.org).
