B.F. Wally - thank you for the birthday wishes - I haven't turned here yet
but I guess I'm already 19 in Argentina ;-) I was doing some pre-partying
tonight and was so surprised to receive in the mail this week some birthday
wishes, a martini glass from the Experience Music museum, some incredible
Marshall Crenshaw bootlegs and a silver martini pin from some of my list
friends! Wow! I love you guys!

Re Jimmy Webb - Patrick - thanks for setting the story straight - I'd heard
she'd broken his heart but maybe forgot that the affair was unrequited. I'm
still scratching my head a little because, ahem, he was fairly newlywed
around that time. Ah well, it's still a brilliant song ;-) I can also see
where Brian finds him schmaltzy. I get that sometimes from him, too, but he
has a genius, at least to me, of being able to pull up on it at the last
minute before it goes over the edge. I loved his collaboration with Carly
on Film Noir, although I know it's not every Carly fan's cup of tea. I'm
just a sucker for those old songs. I love Funny Valentine, too, for that
matter.

Mark E - I don't think I've heard Monheit's Waters of March, but I love that
song, too, and love her voice. I will have to check it out. Your fantastic
post of the experience with RLJ completely seeped right through my monitor
and I think you've converted me, too, now! When you get it, you really get
it, and you really know how to convey it.

Paz, Victor and Bob - I know you will have a wonderful time at the Yes
concert and wish we could all be there with you!

Kakki - off for a long B-day weekend ;-)
