At Kate's fabulous house concert party that I was so lucky to attend last
year, Doug, Jeff Pevar and also Anastastia & John Gonzales all played solo
and with Kate. It was one of the most incredible nights of music I have
ever experienced. I picked up all their CDs that night and I'm glad to hear
you have found Doug's. You should check out A&J, too. Croz loves them and
they have opened for CPR at various shows the past few years..

Harold is one of my dearest friends in this world and it has been a long
tradition for my friends and I to spend my birthday night wherever he is
performing. Last night was no different and in addition to playing my
favorite originals, he also always plays all my fave Van, Stevie Wonder,
Clapton, Buffalo Springfield and Bobby Caldwell, too, and embarrasses me
with an original birthday song each year ;-) In another life long ago when
I was a singer-songwriter he gave me my first performing break at Tony's, a
little place by the beach. He is the greatest friend to musicians and
songwriters I have ever known. And I loved telling him last night that he'd
finally made mention on the Joni list ;-D
