I don't have any idea who's quote this is, but wanted to add that I
think it's cruel that music is so elusive, so intangible. It's not the
written score, it's not the cd we buy, it's not the performer... it's
those sounds that disappear almost as soon as they're made. That's one
of its beauties, too... the reminder of time's passing and the  constant
demand that each moment be appreciated.
