Although not my cup of tea, I could see how attractive Plummer was in the
film.
Julie's voice is so pure.
Yes it was corny in parts.
Eleonor Parker was good in parts too. At first one thinks she is a selfish
bitch but then she truly comes up trumps in her parting scene.
To me the whole film is about how the world can change just like that. How
people can compromise themsleves and bring about hell on earth.
Although I am aware the movie appears to be about this love affair, it is
the cloud of evil coming down that strikes me the most. This contamination
of innocence. Makes me shudder. the world has changed so much and will
continue to do so. people will always compromise themselves and give evil a
home whilst prentending otherwise.
