Rufus version of Hallelujah is superb. John Cale Hallelujah on the soundtrack
to Basquiat, the 1996 film that was mentioned this past week on the list. it
is certainly a fine rendition of the song. Rufus version is very reminiscent
of Cales version.
the standout tracks on that album are Cale, Pj Harvey doing "is that all there
is?", and Them with "it's all over now baby blue", in my opinion the finest
version of this song i've heard, but then, it *is* the version that i heard
first.
i'm now doing everything i can to take my mind of off the events of the day. i
sat in front of the tv for hours today, just talking it all in, and
considering the ramifications of this tragedy. or at least attempting to.
i'm still in shock, and i feel very helpless in the face of tragedy so large,
so daunting. i spent the day vascillating (sp?) between shock, outrage,
confusion, disbelief and tears.
my little prayers are being offered.
Love and Luck to all
