Last night our National Broadcaster cancelled all its regular TV
programs and devoted the whole evening to coverage of the tragedy. The
last report I heard this morning said that, among the thousands of
victims, at least two Australians were killed in the airplanes and
over 70 are unaccounted for on the ground. It all defies expression! I
really cant find any words that seem appropriate. They all end up
sounding so trite.
Its just too horrible and the consequences for the whole world are
frightening. Its all going to get very messy I fear. The world is a
very sad place at the moment.

PS. Its sobering for me personally to think that, only a matter of
weeks ago, my own son was taking photographs from the top of the WTC.
