The show is extremely dated...I have a hard time getting past that. I don't
like the arrangements much either, although some are radically different from
the originals in an interesting way (Banquet, Raised On Robbery, etc.) The
versions of Refuge of the Roads and For Free are heartbreaking, and my
favorite versions of these songs.
The songs are interspersed by home video (film, actually) that Joni shot on
the road and other places...kind of interesting. I like the piece as a
whole, I just wish she'd done it before or after her rock chick phase,
because its not one of my favorite Joni periods.
