Dear friends,
I've been good about not getting involved in this topic but I would like to
be a bit of a peacemaker here. I know in my heart that "To everything there
is a season" and that there is a time for peace and a time for war. I
understand and feel just as fervent as Kakki about the US taking action
concerning this tragedy and I do not feel that it is something that must be
done for my personal vindication. I truly feel it is the right thing to do,
and I have two brothers as well as two nieces in the Air Force on standby. I
am not saying that the US has never taken an innocent life, but I have seen
us try time and time again to avoid doing so. I have confidence that we will
try to target only those areas where we know that terrorist participants
exist.

What I got from Ric is his concern that America wants revenge at any cost. I
also got from him a fear that America is losing it's highly regarded right to
free speech by openly shunning those with pacifist views. I was saddened by
the news that security is now required for the one congressperson who voted
against giving the president the power to use force. She was genuinely
concerned about the loss of more life. I am concerned too, but I am convinced
in my heart that we have to take a stand to preserve the freedoms of all
those who hold it dear. I respect the views of those who do not want war, but
these terrorists live and die by the sword. To me, they are like
international bullies threatening death to any Muslim nation who helps the
United States.

In essence, hearts are aflame with the need for these evil men to be stopped.
Many hearts are also pure about this need. If there were any other way to do
it, I would vote for it in a minute, but sadly, I do not see any other
recourse. There are those who are now willing to fight and die for what they
believe in, that being the stopping of this type of terrorism. I would
personally like to see God confound my enemies and cause them to start
fighting among themselves, thereby causing their own downfall. The point is,
they have to fall.
