I've stayed out of this because I don't have the time or energy to speak coherently on the subject. I have 2 minutes before class this morning and there's two things I have to get out of my system: The Catholic Church is not, and never was, in any way whatsoever, "staunchly pacifist". Vince Lavieri is an excellent human being and an important member of this list. That he's been treated in such a way is inexcusable. He simply stated facts - it's not about liking or not liking anyone. Lots of other conversations on the list include the exchange of facts and opinions without attack, why not this one? Jenaya... who was raised to think Catholics are very nice lunatics. Vince, I'm sorry I didn't say anything earlier - I didn't think it was going to be necessary.
