After reading Kakki's post, I'm dreaming my dream again: in fact this list is the only place I can still dream and maybe make it come true.But I need a little help.For over 15 years now I'm trying to find my way in the Belgian music-scene.I'm a singer, have worked with several musicians, have performed uncountable times with people and had a good time. And everybody I've met was so enthusiastic about my voice," the voice of an angel"they said.Yeah! The voice of an angel with no job..Because it simply doesn't work out for me here in Belgium, my little country Belgium. Here the music business thinks very commercially( and I have no problem with that) but there's definitely no room for singer-songwriters, we don't have a "folk" history, the only thing I can do actually to make a little money is to do backing vocals.I've had enough of it!! Enough is enough!! The joni lyrics kept me going for all these years, I was singing them for friends, for strangers, well I played really good "for free". Most of the times I'm a lurker on this list, but I've noticed that some of you are musicians too, who maybe can give me some relevant information or advice.My dream is to make a CD with only Joni covers; very intimate,with "dark" arrangements,it's not easy to translate or discribe it exactly. But hey, the sky is the limit for me. I want to get in touch with other JMDLers who have the same dream as me or who are in the same situation as I am: rejected by some& not understood by others(this is very Joni related :.)).Maybe we can do something together.
