I'm changing to NJC at this point because I'm only
talking about dogs now.  Jack Russells have been
trendy here too for at least the last five years; but
so are labs (esp. chocolate and yellow, which are
recessive genes and these colours used to be
considered undesirable - breeders would actually
destroy pups that were born in these colours!) and
golden retrievers are also trendy (but so nice!)  I've
got a papillon - I got her in the summer.  She's a
mature dog (8 yrs old) who used to be a show dog and
who had several litters of puppies - she is SUCH a
sweet dog (and tiny, so very portable, like the Jack).
 My son's friend's family has a Portuguese Water Dog -
a really lovely beast and great for people who have
allergies.
