Hi Patricia, You are more than welcome to write to me off list. I think that in order to make it in this business, you have to have the support of other musicians who are not afraid to believe in you. You seem to have that, but as you said, the opportunities for a singer songwriter such as yourself are not available in your country.
My question to you (and you can reply off list if you like) is about the Joni covers. Is this your ultimate goal as an artist, or just one of them? Do you have a vision for your own material? I feel to have a vision for your own material is also important. The next step is to start creating that vision on a CD or demo CD if you haven't already. The third and final step is that you may have to go where the opportunities for what you are trying to do lie. In fact, I know you will have to go where the opportunities lie. You seem like you are hungry to fulfill that need inside to be a singer/songwriter. I understand that need completely and I'm telling you that it will not go away. I tried to bury my need for almost twenty years and I am here to tell you that it can't be done without damage to the psyche and soul. I wish you all the best and I am here for you off list if you need me.
