i have always been curious to read maurice sendak's Where the Wild Things
Are. totally unavailable, i hear. i first became interested when i saw
''really rosie'', maurice sendak's story with music by carole king. i saw
two operas based on sendak's stories: Where the Wild Things Are and another
one [something like higgledy haggeddy poop or some such thing, the name
escapes me now]. both operas quite ****''MODERN''**** and horrid.
among the things i was going to sing at the last jonifest [before i was
rushed off the stage by madame ashara -- just kidding!] was ''the awful
truth'' from sendak's ''really rosie''. oh well. now you'll never hear it...
