Dear All,

First, thanks to all for the b'day wishes. I haven't been able to reply
to anyone (or wish Colin a happy birthday) because instead of enjoying my
birthday I was snowbound and without electricity. No lift (elevator) no
metro, no traffic lights, no heating, no nix. Worst of all was the power
going down which took my computer with it. Writing this from a cybercafe
cos my machine is in the workshop. I hope the damage is only the
motherboard. If it's not that, it's the hard disk which contains too much
important stuff to think about. Yes, I backed up some stuff but there's a
lot of other stuff that may be lost for ever... I'm waiting for a call to
confirm the results of the investigation. Cross your fingers for me. I'll
be in touch asap. Sorry for the non-appearance of the poem this weekend.
Best wishes to all, whether you're heading into winter or out of it. If
Patagonia was/is so bleak, why did the Welsh go there and stay there?
What a perverse people we are. Hwyl

Mike in Barcelona, where some people are still without electricity since
friday. It's more like California every day...

NP nothing.
