typed out a whole email and LOST IT when system crashed! argh!

basically, I have a degree in library science but work in records management.
I'd say contact a reference librarian as they study this stuff, the art of
communication being something that concerns them.

there are 2 types: true homophones, or sounds that actually mean 2 different
things, euthanasia/youth in Asia is one; and pseudohomophones, things that
are slightly "off"
true homophones:
grease/Greece
turkey/Turkey
china/China
cold (illness or temp)
wales/whales
eunuchs/UNIX

pseudohomophones
oranges and peaches/on the origin of species
valueline (business reference)/volume 9

I'd suggest contacting a reference librarian and asking them to point you to
an article or material on a listserv.

People hurry by so quickly
Don't they hear the melodies
In the chiming and the clicking
And the laughing harmonies
