Actually, both, although it seems more pronounced on the video. On the album: When I listen to "Man From Mars", it sounds like she's "multipled" the guitars too much. I don't know if "muddy" is the best adjective to use; maybe "fuzzy"? Slightly as if it had been recorded in a garage (because of an echo-y character to the sound)? And it's only the guitar, not the whole sound. If you don't know what I mean, try listening to pretty much any of the tracks on TI, then immediately switch to just about any track on TtT.
