Have noticed the same thing about myself Bree.  The times that I think I
have it going on and have really put a lot of time into my appearance, I
seem to get very little attention.  When I do not do so and feel rather
scuzzy or unkempt or just not together, I get compliments out the bazoo.
Figure it has something to do with demeanor since I have usually been
described as arrogant, aloof, unfriendly, etc.
