On January 26 in Joni Mitchell History: 1976: From the Official Chronology at JM.com: Joni performs at Memorial Auditorium in Dallas, Texas.
1995: Joni performs at the Gene Autry Western Heritage Museum in Los Angeles, before 240 invited fans. The Addicted To Noise website ran a blurb saying "Joni Mitchell is back in the saddle again, and she certainly proved it with a vengeance... when she performed an hour long show at the Gene Autry Western Heritage Museum. The show was broadcast live to 100 radio stations around the country, and demonstrated Mitchell's enduring talent. According to Robert Hilburn of the Los Angeles Times , she showed "her excellence both as a singer with exquisite instincts for phrasing and as songwriter with the originality and command of a poet." Choosing the venue was no accident, for Mitchell has a longtime love for singing cowboys, a point she made material by showing off an enlarged photograph of herself in a Roy Rogers outfit complete with hat and cap pistol- none of that Dale Evans crap for her. But you already knew that, didn't you." Just after the above show, Joni sat for a live "Cyber-Talk" that was carried live on AOL. Click the link for the transcript.
