SOPHIE'S CHOICE is heart-wrenching. Meryl Streep appeared in Oprah many seasons ago and she related how it was very very difficult for her to film the scene where she was made to choose which child will have to go. She told the director that she wouldn't want to revisit Sophie's dilemma because as a mother, she can relate. When one watches the film, its hard to fight back tears.
