Janine, I was in tears reading your post!!!! as well as during the whole evening too..both Brei and I were as we clung close to one another...barely believing our eyes. Joni. Beloved, magnificent, beautiful Joni. There on stage. There in the room. There. She has impacted both of our lives so deeply and it was so special to be able to see her together. Everything you said about Joni is true. Joni is a gracious, incredible presence and more. This was the highlight of my life too. To be there, with Brian, with our Joni friends/family and to hear Joni play that piano again after how long???? Oh and to hear her sing those pieces from the new project. I know, we've all written about this evening, this precious evening... really, there are no words to adequately convey all the feelings, the heart bursting, gushing with pride feelings. What an incredible honour to be a part of it. Janine, I looked so forward to meeting you finally afterward.. and I can completely understand how you would have felt because we were a mess too and we were several rows back! Joni is brilliant, warm and very much going stronger than ever. An incredibly gifted woman of heart, mind and soul. thanks so much for sharing your joy. lots of love, Mags and Brei xo np: Two Grey Rooms *sigh* in memory only, by Rebecca Jenkins Jimmy..I have a recording of Rebecca Jenkins..a Bruce Cockburn tune...it is exquisite..too bad I didnt think to send it with honeyboi last week.
