Arr, I was trailing you all - saw Spirit at the Forum and showed up at Gazzari's on a rumor of the Doors once, but they'd long left the building. Steve wrote: > >Kakki! He said the "S" word! Gil - Kakki and I are both big Sweetwater fans. You are now member number 3 of the JMDL Sweetwater fan club. Yes, Gil, this is quite momentous for Steve and I, who initially bonded on the list over this bit of esoterica. Welcome to our little club and now we have enough members for the t-shirt ;-) Then Nick wrote: > Yeah, but did they ever play at the Sweetwater Cafe in Redondo Beach? I virtually lived at the Sweetwater for a time in around what - '75-77? when it was about the only place for live music by the beach. Don't remember who I saw now - maybe Taj Mahal - but remember being irked at how the "Sweethearts of the Rodeo" ended up getting nearly every show there and didn't like their monopoly. Of course, I had no clue they would go on to great fame in Nashville and country music and Janis would marry Vince Gill! Kakki
