I am not a royalist. i think the whole idea is a silly one. The sooner they are gone the better. However, don't believe everything you read in the papers! Princess Margeret did not insist on being called ma'am by her friends. Nor was she shallow. She did much for charity, especially she did much for the abused children of this country. She had the misfortune to be born into her family. This 'privilage' was a burden and musked up her life. The media did not ever treat her well from the when she fell in love with a divorced man and they painted her red. She was forced to bar this man from her life. Later she had a long relationship with a single man quite a few years her junior. Again the media lambasted her for that. Her only marriage, a love less one, ended in divorce and she agin was trashed for that. All in all,Princess Margeret was treated badly by the media and we all were given a false impression of this woman, who just abother human being, like us, trying to do her best with what life and dealt her. As it is she did much for the underprivilaged in our society. As for allegedly saying 'the Irish are pigs', well we were all brought up to think that so it is hardly earthshattering even if she did say it.
Being a Royal is no picnic and an accident of birth and one accident I am very glad I missed out on! (btw the Queen Mother who is about to pop her clogs, has done soem truly nasty things to people and deserves bad press but she doesn't get it) [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > In a message dated 2/13/02 11:20:20 PM, [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes: > > << Much too young to leave us.
