well, despite the info given the cat in the photo is NOT a calico and white. It is a tabby and white. It may be a tortoisehell tabby and white, tho it is not possible to tell from the photo.(Calico is a pacthed cat and they are female. they are patched with red. cream black and white. A tortoiseshell is patched red, cream and black tho in practice these colours are often intermingled. So a tortie tabby(or Torby) is patched with those colours but the black is in the form of the usual tabby stripes or spots or whorls depending on wheter the tabby is mackeral, spotted, or classic . It is a sex linked characteristic, with these colurs being female. The very rare male in this colour is sterile. You would get this colour by breeding a red to a black or a red/white to a black/white. The only way to have a red or red and white female kitten is when both parents are red or the father is red and mopthet tortie or calico. just thought you'd like to know that!
