Welcome back Kate!

I recall some long discussions on the CSN list about this and I think the
large part of the problem lies with the promoters who are somehow tied in
with the Clear Channel monopoly, etc. Because they have a monopoly on
concert events they can charge whatever they please because there is little
competition and where else is everyone supposed to go, including the
performers themselves? I seem to recall even Crosby decrying the situation
on that list. However, another thing I have found is that the hardcore fans
(such as on their list) all want to have a front row seat and of course,
those are going to cost a fortune at practically any concert. I went to
their show here at Staples Center in 2000 and paid around $78 for a pretty
close in spot. At Staples they also have big screens everywhere and the
acoustics were great. I was not at all disappointed. Most of the seats in
the rest of the place were around $48.00. It was worth it at that price.
