Henley deserves high kudos for his work with RAC.  He has essentially stated that he 
knows that his efforts could mean the end of his commercial career but he doesn't 
care.  He has lobbied the California legislature to eliminate the seven year statute 
and 
he has rallied significant support.  

Courtney Love and the Dixie Chicks are also taking huge chances by remaining firm 
and not settling their law suits.

It is tough to crank up, but it's not impossible and the environment for independents 
right now is very good.
