outkast's performance was my favorite part of that long, often tedious show -- i think they are a fantastic, musical, interesting group with new and different things to say (and "ms. jackson" is a haunting, affecting song IMO -- plus the video was stellar and eye-catching). i think the outfit was a visual riff on parliament funkadelic's crazy mystical style, or at least it seemed that way to me -- -- emily, in chicago
