Thanks, Bree! Yes, I'll be "singing" -- reaching all the thrilling highs and subsonic lows of my 1/3 of an octave "singing" voice. If I can work up the nerve.
>From every report, including yours, the Diana Krall concert(s) sound lovely. About the only person I'd actually go to see (outside tiny venues, which are generally not a problem) is JM herself. I have physical problems which make sitting, usually squished (I'm 6'6") into a seat, and needing to be able to get out at any time during a long conert a problem. So I rarely go -- but I might make an exception for Diana Krall. I have a feeling, though, that she may already have come through this area. Do any of the Bay Area jmdlers know? I still have the pink section from the Chronicle, so I'll check, but if it's not too late, and she's still coming, *and* if tickets are still available, is anyone else interested? As for your experience with getting great tickets at a late date, i once waited for tickets to see the Manhattan Transfer in Providence until a day or two before the performance -- and got second row center. I compared notes with the woman sitting next to me, and we both had charged our tickets on American Express the same day, so I guess it had something to do with that. Do the various charge/credit cards buy blocks of seats, or is it the performance venues themselves who hold blocks of seats until the last second, then let them go late? I don't know how these things work, but I'm glad it worked out for you & Diana Krall! hugs, an injured Walt (stupid bus driver yesterday stopped short -- possibly not his fault, I suppose -- and I and everyone else standing were thrown violently forward. Back pain started last night. Sigh.)
