It is, Fred, and good for you for bringing this to light. I'd seen this info, but a lot of people still insist there was nothing wrong with what happened in Florida. As a local columnist for the SF Chronicle pointed out (and I doubt he was the only one to do so), what would we be thinking/saying if in some so-called third-world country, the former president's son won an election by questionable means, involving a very questionable/maneuvered/rigged count in a region governed by the candidate's brother, etc., etc., etc.? It might be funny -- but bad presidents put bad people in judicial positions, including the Supreme Court. Thank god these judicial candidates are subject to review, but a few idiots *will* get through -- witness Scalia and Thomas -- and one need only check out W's cabinet to imagine what kind of kneejerk right-wing numbnuts he'll nominate for the Supreme Court.
