After I read this again, I realized this sounded so weird, like I was hanging
out with Ron Howard or something...No, my friend (and new neighbor) was up
for the costume design award (big, because it was televised and literally
skyrockets a costume designers career), but he didn't take home the gold.
But, he did get to go to the Vanity Fair party and I am dying to know if JM
showed up again! He promised to be on the lookout.

Kakki, the Halle moment was one of the best I have seen on this show in
years. I am partial to her because last December we sat at the same table at
a charity dinner. This lady is as sweet, smart, and gracious as she appears
on the interview shows. This charity is the one she hooked up with during
her community service for the car accident. She produced and directed a film
(which made its debut that evening) honoring the work of this charity --
which focuses on domestic violence in south central Los Angeles. Beyond the
film, she spends many hours every week helping these amazing people, at the
center. She is NOT one to simply write a check and call that charity work.
She was so proud of her work on the film -- which was excellent -- she
totally stole my heart as well as Brad's. I am beyond happy for her big win
last night, setting aside the doors it opens for African Americans.

By the way, did anyone notice Sir Ian's handsome date -- at one point they
showed his boyfriend with his hand placed lovingly on Ian's knee. Way to go,
Ian!
