Just wanted to share with ya'll the fact that there's a new book out about the history of Warner Records called _Exploding: The Highs, Hype, Heroes and Hustlers of the Warner Music Group_, by Stan Cornyn with Paul Scanlon.
The review I read starts by saying "Once Warner Bros. Records ruled the charts, flourishing with acts as rich and diverse as Joni Mitchell, Van Morrison, James Taylor, Jimi Hendrix, Grateful Dead, Fleetwood Mac and Frank Zappa. But this was more than simply a successful record label, it was a country club of a company where artists actually liked executives and the executives really liked the music. It was proof that art and commerce could live together happily." I'm gonna check it out just for kicks. Will report if there's any significant JC. -Julius
